The most important thing is not buying the most expensive machine.
A good air purifier should have appropriate room coverage, sufficient CADR, effective particle filtration, manageable noise levels and affordable replacement filters.
For most Malaysian homes, a correctly sized mid-range air purifier that is used consistently will usually make more sense than spending thousands of ringgit on features you don’t actually need.
And remember: an air purifier works best as part of a bigger clean-air strategy. During haze periods, reduce outdoor-air infiltration where practical, keep the room reasonably sealed, clean your home regularly and monitor indoor air quality.
The best air purifier is ultimately the one you can afford, maintain and run consistently.
